He's spent three weeks with a team of BIOTAS researchers on the Northwest coast of Madagascar scouring the seas for sea cucumbers and other fascinating echinoderm species. The results are impressive. This two-foot wide sea star is my favorite out of all their finds:
The team cataloged 1,000 species with five divers. And they get the distinct impression there's still many more species waiting to be reported and/or discovered.
There is such incredible biodiversity that Tim couldn't escape it... not even on land:
